Forest Management

My services in forest management are currently very limited. There are other fine consulting foresters with the ability to serve any need you may have. I am fortunate to still have my health, yet the hills are getting steeper and I am not as inclined to jump creeks, climb down bluffs, and walk downed logs to cross a stream. My focus is now in wildland fire prevention. I am still willing to assist you as I can, so don’t hesitate to call. Thanks to all my past clients and fellow foresters for their continued support. Have a great day.

Forest Planning and Inventory Are Essential First Steps

I want forest landowners to get the most from their forest resource and develop a level of understanding in both the process and the silvicultural practice.

Forest management is based on the goals of the landowner.  A forest inventory gives the landowner knowledge of the condition, volumes, and values of resources on the property.  Inventory is needed to participate in certain programs including application for carbon credits.  Valuation of timber resources is important for appraisals, damage estimates, and taxation issues.  Decisions to invest capital, improve the quality of timber, or sell assets are based on solid information from the inventory coupled with landowner objectives.

Forest Synergy specializes in cedar inventory and management.  Eastern red cedar has significant value that is often not recognized by landowners.  Numerous inventories and sales have netted landowners hundreds of dollars per acre they previously thought had no value.
